(Part 5) Anecdotes, Facts, Examples for GS, Ethics and Essay

The greatest mistake a human being makes is trying to answer everyone.
Someone says something, and a storm rises within you.
Someone looks down on you, and you begin to feel small.

Have you ever thought about where other people’s words get so much power from?

The power is not in the words.
The power is in your attention.

What you listen to is what wounds you.
What you give importance to is what sits on top of you.

Ignoring people is not a skill that is taught—
because it goes against the marketplace.
Society wants you to react, to fight, to justify yourself,
to prove that you are right.

But the one who learns that not every voice needs a reply
is the one who is truly free.

Remember: ignoring is not cowardice.
A coward is someone who gets hurt by everything.
A brave person is one who can choose
whom to allow into their mind—and whom not to.

Your mind is a doorway.
If you let everyone in, where will peace remain?

And then you say, “People are very bad.”
No—people are just what they are.
The problem is not who people are.
The problem is that you give everyone more importance than they deserve.

And when someone does not even try to understand you,
you still keep trying to explain yourself.
