Since i scored one of the highest marks in sociology this year and i’m getting a lot of related queries . So , i will be sharing my optional strategy first. This is for those who want to start from scratch.

Here it is :

UPSC Mains Strategy by Divyanshi Singla UPSC Topper

Hello all !!
Here is the overall strategy that is required to tackle mains .

  1. It is a very basic thing but often the most ignored aspect of preparation i.e Syllabus. Stick to the syllabus and make precise notes on each and every topic mentioned in upsc syllabus .
  2. Go through pyqs to get an idea about the most frequently asked themes/areas.
  3. Preparation of optional should take 50% or more than that as it can be a deciding factor in getting a good rank. Other papers can be taken along .
  4. Along with a coaching test series , you can get your answers or essays reviewed from friends/seniors involved in this preparation.

Note : These are my personal views . You can stick to your own strategy but just don’t ignore the basics .
