Those who are appearing for prelims, I’ll shortly take a 15-20 min session for last 2 week approach.

As of now remember,

1.Whatever u have studied till now is absolutely enough to clear the prelims. Don’t worry about skipped part.
Don’t have insecurities in mind about remaining portion.

2.Revise Revise Revise.
Be in touch with all important themes of prelims which u have analysed from PYQs.
(I will mention them in session)

3. Forget your test scores NOW!! They don’t matter and they are useless now but do revise those tests and remember whatever mistakes u have done.
Don’t repeat them especially silly mistakes.

4. Be in happy n confident state of mind. Part of study is over .. now it’s about temperament, logic, reasoning, calculated guesses.

5. Stay away from negative people, don’t let anxiety take over ur preparation

6.Keep telling yourself that “I have really worked hard n dedicatedly for this day and i’m going to clear it”

I have failed 3 prelims by margin of just 0.66 marks. But after that my scores are 15-18 marks more than cut off due to above approach.

One thing that’s prominent and can be inferred from my mark sheet is that

You need not be topper in all subjects or need not score exceptional marks in any subject.”

If you score consistent , decent , average and above average marks.. you can still be a topper”.

So get rid off the myth that one has to score 300+ in optional, 150+ in essay etc etc..

Just perform little bit well above average and you are in the List ✌🏼✌🏼

Ancient and Medieval History Preparation strategy by Vinayak Mahamuni IAS

It’s very important to know how much time to spend on different subjects.
It’s not wise to spend disproportionate time Ancient and medieval because the nature of questions is so dynamic that it might not be covered from standard sources.

So rather than running behind various sources just do the basic books, revise them and give more time to other subjects which can fetch more marks ( Polity, environment, economy etc )

Motivational Quotes by Vinayak Mahamuni IAS

Vinayak Mahamuni IAS Motivation
The above quote will keep giving you positivity and enhance your self belief.

Initially, when we start the preparation we get confused. Such a huge syllabus, 100s of books, current affairs, tests n what not.

But remember- capacity to study, to acquire knowledge, to understand, to remember what we are studying CAN be developed.

It’s not inherent.
Some will develop it fast some will take more time.

But don’t forget to keep giving your best.

Gandhiji’s life is always a source of inspiration to have courage, perseverance, never give up attitude and larger goal of service.

Best Wishes on Gandhi Jayanti 😊

Prelims Paper analysis by Vinayak Mahamuni IAS

My take on today’s paper
( will post detailed analysis later )

  1. It was unconventional (as always ) so can’t complain 😅

2.Major themes which we discussed in the session could be found repeating
(IVC, rivers, ajanta, vijaynagar, world heritage sites, unesco, snt ancient medieval and land revenue etc )

  1. Those who did previous year questions in depth would definitely b at advantage
  2. mixed type of questions easy moderate difficult , logic works but not everywhere
  3. 80+ would be a great attempt
  4. cut off and all we can speculate in 2-3 days ( but it’s futile 😂)

So give csat paper well and enjoy today evening.

We will post answer key soon ( Made by selected toppers of this year )
For 2022 people – understand the importance of analysis and pyq and important themes.

See u all soon

Those who are scoring around 90/90+ (General category) should start full fledged mains preparation.

There can be differences in UPSC answers and various answer keys, even one question can bring you in the list.

And regardless of your score if you are planning to give next attempt then it’s the right time to prepare for mains.

Before that take a page and write your thoughts, your analysis, where u lacked, your strengths, what could have been done better, things u regret not doing etc

It will help in next year’s preparation.

Take a break of 2-3 days and start afresh.

Tell yourself “Battle is not over yet coz I have not won yet

🙊🙉🙈

According to me and experiences of many ppl in this field, it requires minimum 12-16 months of full fledged preparation.
(more but not less)

Those who say they cleared in 5-6 months/1 year either have superpowers or they are misleading.

Vinayak Mahamuni IAS Pen used in Mains
often people ask about pen used for mains.
I used Reynolds/rorito trimax type refill without pen in both the mains (Gel pen )
I used surgical tape for better grip according to my grip.
Try the pens beforehand and decide which one is suitable for u ( speed, handwriting, comfort, quality of ink )
Pilot v5 is also a good option.

Vinayak Mahamuni IAS Allocation List
Some emotions cannot be expressed in words.. in fact they don’t need words..
Six years ago, I saw a dream. Dream of being an IAS.
Many a times dreaming is an easy affair but turning it into reality is not at all a cakewalk, especially when it’s about UPSC.
I could take this risk at a very crucial point of my career by leaving the job at IBM just because of my strong support system.
My parents, who not only engrained good values in me but also stood strong by me at every crucial point throughout this journey.
Last six years have been very challenging.
During this period, I evolved inside out. Also faced many such situation that created self-doubt.
But, strong and unconditional support of my parents, my sisters-brother-in-laws helped me to stay focussed. Also, this journey was not at all easy without my UPSC peer group and all my dear friends. They always cheered and helped me believe in myself.
Cracking India’s most difficult exam isn’t possible without proper guidance. All my tutors, teachers, professors who helped in building my academic self, have great share in my success.
During this journey, which requires high perseverance, I must mention here, Rocky-My pet was my great stress-buster.
I am thanking you all from the bottom of my heart. Keep showering your love. Thank you for your support!

How to increase marks in Prelims by Vinayak Mahamuni IAS

Hello All 🙋🏻‍♂️
So days, weeks and months have passed and the D day is here.. Prelims!!

Most important stage in CSE.
It is designed to eliminate non serious candidates and you have been sincerely preparing for it with all your heart, mind and body, tell yourself “I’m gonna clear it no matter how the paper is

It’s the time to keep your insecurities aside and being confident about yourself.. Prelims needs knowledge and revisions, no doubt.. but at this stage it demands common sense, calm n composed mind and confidence.

Anxiety is pretty common at this stage but you can overcome it.

Don’t stretch your limits now.. it’s time to give your brain little rest.. eat well, sleep well and be hydrated.

Don’t give up at any point.. keep fighting till last minute.

Don’t overthink about level of difficulty of the paper.. It increases anxiety.. just use 100% brain n solve the paper.

If it’s easy then it’s easy for all.
If it’s difficult then it’s difficult for all.
Period.

Don’t do even one silly mistake.. so read the question and options very carefully and equally important mark the answers carefully.

Don’t think about GS paper in csat.. n solve csat also with all your brain and heart.

Follow whatever approach you have been following in attempting the questions and circling the answers.

Its matter of just 15-20 more questions as all will be knowing 35-40 questions.

Do well, my best wishes 🤗💐
