Garima Narula, 23, a native of Ishwar Colony in Udham Singh Nagar district headquarters, Rudrapur, achieved extraordinary success in the UPSC test, achieving 39th place on her first attempt. She has been accepted into the elite Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
The UPSC 2022 examination results were announced on Tuesday, catapulting Garima into the spotlight as she strives to become an IAS officer, fulfilling the expectations of her parents and relatives. Garima Narula, the daughter of local businessman Vipin Narula and Sharda Narula, received a torrent of congratulations for her success.

Garima said her maternal uncle, Mukesh Pasricha, who is a PCS officer in Uttar Pradesh, encouraged her decision to enter the civil service. “The influence of my uncle played a significant role in shaping my aspirations,” she explained. Garima’s maternal uncle, Umesh Pasricha, stated that her unshakable dedication and tireless work contributed to her amazing accomplishment. “Garima’s determination and passion for joining the civil services from a young age ultimately paved the way for her to crack the tough UPSC examination,” he explained.
Garima attributes her exam accomplishment to four years of relentless studying and persistence. She indicated a desire to use her position as an IAS official to help the disadvantaged, orphaned, and marginalised members of society.
Garima graduated from Hindu College Garima Narula, who secured the 39th position in the UPSC exam, told iasbio.com, “I did my tenth and twelfth grades from CBSE board from private schools in Rudrapur.” While his bachelor’s degree is from Hindu College Delhi University. He stated that after seeing my maternal uncle, I and my entire family had a desire to pass the civil service exam and serve the country.

Garima Narula told, I didn’t believe I would pass the exam on the first try. When I saw my results, I couldn’t believe I had accomplished my and my family’s dream by getting the 39th rank in the UPSC exam. She stated that I have a dream of working for women’s emancipation and self-sufficiency.

Another Pitthoragrh local, Himanshu Samant, came in 348th place. Vibhakar Pal and Madhav Bhardwaj from Mussoorie, on the other hand, passed the exam. Vibhakar was ranked 521st, while Madhav was ranked 536th.
